Important Details
Business Members are required to pay a refundable membership bond of $1000 to join. (Not required for public institutions). The bond is non-taxable and fully refundable if you leave, after a minimum membership period of one year. Payable by credit card or cheque before the membership is activated.
We can set up different billing accounts if you are an organization with many departments, and want each department to receive its own invoice for more streamlined accounting.
Choose your Damage Protection Plan, to limit your financial responsibility in the event of a collision or damage to a vehicle (at-fault or not). This annual cost covers all drivers on your account.
The default damage fee in the event of an accident (whether at fault or not) is $750 per accident and is available at the following cost:

Business Registration
Signing up your business is fast and easy! Fill out the Business Registration form to register the business, and use the Authorized Driver Registration form to register authorized drivers, who will be able to use vehicles on behalf of the business. Our Business Membership team will respond within 2-3 business days.
It is possible to separate your drivers into different accounts or billing units (a separate monthly invoice will be produced for each account). If you are interested in this feature, let us know in the message box on the registration form. Please include a name for each account, and tell us how to distribute drivers between the accounts. If your business has already signed up, use the Contact form to send us your request for this feature.
Whatever the length, distance and frequency of your trips, we offer a range of plan options to meet your needs.
The following rates apply to all trips made with a round-trip vehicle and, under certain conditions, when you drive a FLEX vehicle (see FLEX Vehicles). Choosing a plan is mandatory. A minimum commitment of 12 months is required for any plans with a monthly membership fee. Annual fees are non-refundable.

Any trip made with a FLEX vehicle will automatically be billed at the lowest price between the FLEX rates or the rates for round-trip vehicles in your plan (see Our Plans). This comparison is made regardless of the length of your trip. However, a minimum of 4 hours will be charged even for shorter trips if the round-trip rates are applied. Learn more
There is no minimum number of hours billed when you use a round-trip vehicle, only a minimum reservation time of 30 minutes.
For trips of 4 hours or more, prices are generally the same whether you use a FLEX or round-trip vehicle.
Open plan members can save with FLEX on trips over 4 hours (the maximum FLEX price per day is $- for the first day, instead of $- for a Round-trip vehicle), and any trips made on Saturday or Sunday because the additional $-/hour or $-/day does not apply to FLEX vehicles.
Surcharge on displayed prices (time + km) of -% for minivans and -% for family vehicles (see Our fleet). The surcharge also applies on Long Distance and Workday rates.
Additional charge of $- per extra day applies to all trips longer than 28 days.
Online reservation or modification: free; reservation or modification by phone: $- per transaction from 8am to 5pm and $- in the evenings.

For trips that require traveling a lot of kilometres, Communauto offers through all Value plans highly advantageous daily and weekly Long Distance rates. This pricing formula also allows you to take advantage of cheaper prices per kilometre than the regular rate provided in your Value plan.
Long distance rates are applied automatically upon completion of the trip, for FLEX and round-trip vehicles. Depending on the total kilometres the best rate offered per plan will be applied.

Quick round-trip preferred rate
Value plans members automatically enjoy the Open Plus plan rates when calculating the trip price if it works out to be cheaper for them.
For example, if you do a quick one-hour round trip to drop someone off and drive 60km, this trip will end up costing you only $21.85 instead of being charged $29.30 or $24.60, respectively, depending on whether you are enrolled in the Valueor Value Plus plan. Since trip prices are already so low for Value Extra members, this advantage rarely applies to trips
taken on that plan.
Family Membership
Join as a family to maximize your savings!
All members of a household living at the same address have the option to register together on a single account, to enjoy great savings on their membership fees (offer available for Value plans members only).
Terms
The refundable membership bond for a household is $-. The monthly fee for each additional driver is $-/month or - /year, regardless of the plan chosen by the family.
For example, a family of three who chooses to subscribe to the Value Extra plan will have a total monthly invoice of $37.50 instead of $90 ($30 X 3), saving more than half of the regular monthly cost.
Family members under 19 years old are eligible to join.
People under the age of 19 who wish to join Communauto will be able to do so by joining as a co-member if living at the same address as their parent/guardian at the time of registration.
Workday rate
Use a vehicle for the flat rate of $- per day, with -km included! This great bargain is exclusive to Value Extra plan members.
Terms

Available Monday to Friday only.
Max. of 10 consecutive hours. If your trip exceeds this period, it will be fully charged at your regular plan rates.
An unbilled period from midnight to 6am is included (one more hour than when regular Value Extra rates apply). This means that, for example, you can pick up the car at 5pm and return it the next day at 9am (16 hours later) without incurring any extra costs.
FLEX-specific features
30 minutes free blocking time Once you’ve located a FLEX vehicle using our mobile app, you can block it free of charge for up to 30 minutes, giving you time to reach it. You can block the same vehicle one additional time if you do not access it within the first 30 minutes.
20 minutes credit if you are refuelling A time credit of 20 minutes will be applied for any trip of an hour or less billed at the FLEX vehicle rate if it costs at least $20 (taxes included) to fill up the tank. In the case of a trip of less than 20 minutes, the maximum credit will be equivalent to the length of the trip.
Up to 15 minutes to clear snow During winter, a credit of up to 15 minutes is applied to your trip for snow removal. Your billed trip time will begin when you start driving, or 15 minutes after you unlock the vehicle, whichever comes first. The snow removal credit is applied regardless of the weather. If you use more than one FLEX vehicle in a day, the credit applies to each vehicle used. If you happen to use the same vehicle again during the day, the credit will only apply once.

You can reduce these costs by taking advantage of the protection offered by the credit card you use to pay your invoices if it includes collision loss damage insurance (cost per driver falls then to $36 per year).
